Christantus Uche Fuels Comfortable Crystal Palace Triumph at Shelbourne.

Even though embarking on their first-ever continental adventure, Oliver Glasner's side are learning at a rapid pace. Without key players like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles left Dublin with a comfortable result that virtually guarantees them a spot in the Europa Conference League playoffs.

A further three points in their upcoming match against Finnish KuPS should be sufficient to seal straight passage to the last 16, particularly after a previous stumble against Strasbourg.

Fringe Players Grasp the Opportunity

This occasion offered a platform for some of Palace's lesser-used talent to shine. Christantus Uche, in only his second start after joining on loan from Getafe, opened the scoring with a well-taken finish. Striker Eddie Nketiah contributed a second, scoring for the second consecutive succession.

The contest was as good as over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino meandered past some weak challenges before coolly slotting a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to extend the lead to 3-0.

After the break, coach Oliver Glasner took the chance to rest key players like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse almost scoring his first touch, only to see his effort blocked.

Esse was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one attempt crash off each posts before being clasped on the line. Uche also blazed a sitter of a chance, indicating there is still room for improvement in his game.

The only worry for Palace was a second-half injury to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This paved the way for 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to make his first-team debut, capping an otherwise perfect evening for the traveling side.
